A story of young fresh graduates with a bachelor degree well it all started when they graduated for their qualifications and hope to embark on a new future they call career life. Their purpose was great and it was so pure to earn a living and helps their family whenever they can. Little that they know life was ready to greet them with a lot of what the grownups called responsibilities. But to begin from the earliest part it all begins with them signing up for an account at Jobstreet, Jobs.com, Mari Berkerja, and etc. Well some even are desperate enough to look for jobs on Mudah.my. It was not a walk in the park to explain the toughness and life begins to be a pain in the ass for them. Some that are lucky they manage to score themselves an interview session and some got con with fake job advertisement and some of them who are super lucky got themselves a very good job. Those who are desperate enough are force to take a job that not only underpays but also not worth their qualifications. But money is still money no matter how big or how small. After working for almost a month they started to think about spending their first salary for their family, needs and wants and perhaps start to pay for their student loan. The day they are waiting for finally comes and the feeling was something else. They started to spend some on family, needs and wants and all that left is to pay for their student loan. A walk to the PTPTN’s office was not a pleasant memory to recall as they were in shock as they need to pay in full the entire outstanding amount which sums to a total that they can't even afford. In shock and rage they begin asking. Why is there an outstanding amount when I just finished studies and I apply for postponement of payment? Little that they know in small fine print the postponement only applies to avoid any legal actions taken towards them. In threats of getting their name blacklist they begin panicking. To try and collect almost 4k-7k amount of outstanding in short period of time is not easy or some might say even impossible as they only started working and some of them are being underpaid to add. They soon realize that it was serious and life was already giving them their first hello and not in a good way. As they think very hard trying to earn money but all effort goes to waste. In desperation they begin applying for loan with banks, parents or even friends. Lucky one got it from their parents and the most unlucky one got it from the banks which have already shackled them in a long interest gaining debts. It was a no choice decision they have to make and as a new grownup that just started venturing into the grownup world it was frightening for them. So they begin working with their underpaid job 8-12 hours a day trying to cope with the bank loans, demands for their needs and wants, and in some cases their intention to help their family is totally gone. In tiredness of overworking they started thinking where have they gone wrong? Did they further their studies to be enslaved by work that don’t even pay them equally? As the mind wanders they started to give in to depression, those who are strong they are able to power through and change their life by making changes to their work life but those who have low capabilities stuck in the world of Si Pemakan Gaji. Life is tough to begin with but it is extremely tougher for all the fresh graduates; the needs to fight for a job, earn a decent living, and even paying of their student loan is not a simple task. They just started walking but the world expects them to run, when they are able to run the world demands them to fly. It is not only about good quality nowadays but also the value of perseverance of fresh graduates in coping with life. To all the fresh graduates good luck in finding your path.
